Julia Caesar by caocaothedeciever Julia Caesar by caocaothedeciever
Just uploading more of the character sketches of my genderswapped Romans.

Realized I never uploaded a picture of Caesar herself in full armour :O.

Yes, I know that Caesar's real first name was Gaius, so she should be "Gaia" but I always hated that name.

I love your artwork! And I really enjoy the histories you leave at the bottom of each page. Adjusting for gender, it's a good refresher, since I really love history!

Any chance you'll be making genderbended versions of her descendants like Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius and Nero?

Augustus, yes.

The others no, I'm more concerned with the fall of the Republic than the actual Principate :).

I might though, if only for fun.

Aw, that's a shame. The Julio-Claudian dynasty had such an awesome history, even though it had some of the bloodiest times. I figured you'd have fun with it, especially with Caligula, given his reputation.

The difference is, you have a period with a wide and varied cast of interesting characters, wheras with Caligula you have only a handful of memorable names.

However, a genderswapped version of I, Claudius could be fun :P

I'm halfway through the series and already it's one of the best things I've ever seen. Gotta read the novel too.

Oh, of course I would. It's just certain stories I enjoy more than others. It's just with a lot of those Emperors, you don't have a cast of characters like you do with the Fall of the Republic. It's like doing a story about Andrew Jackson vs. the American Revolution. Sure, Jackson was an interesting guy, but the American Revolution had a huge and varied cast of characters battling it out. More fun that way, for me :).

Ave, Caesar XD
She's beautiful:)

What is the female form of the word Caeser(of which the German word Kaiser(emperror) for instance comes from?

Thank you :).

I have no idea- I know there is no latin female form, or at least not one I'm familiar with. If you find the German one, let me know :P.

German word for empress is Kaiserin.

Quite nice and with a comic touch, i like it.

PS: Her name should be Julia (or Ivlia) CAESARIS, because Caesar is a "cognomen" used by the males of one of the families of the "gens" Ivlia (or Julia) :)

Yes, you're very very very correct.

However, only Latin experts like you, or Roman nerds like me would get that :P.

It'd be intersting to see your take on Caesar's assassination.

Actually, I was think more like Brutus and the others tying Caesar up and shipping her off. Either way, fair enough.

I did draw that once a while ago. But no, I opted for Caesar to fully and totally get offed come the Ides of March. It's more dramatic.

Gaia Julia Caesar the Conqueror, the person who muttered the immortal words: "Veni Veni Veci," as she conquered Gaul and "The Die is Cast" as she crossed the Rubicon... not bad, I would love to see this in a comic

I just realized that her name would have been pronounced Jew-le-A instead Jew-lea... I looked up Roman/Latin pronounciaion and realised I was saying it wrong... I love learning Latin... its like learning three languages at once, by CHEATING!!!

Its bound to happen. The blades of Gladius Hispaniensis, mass produced variants aside, were designed to be the length of the owners forearm and hand combined. Remember that and you'll get it perfect every time.
